The road to Eagle Scout is long and rigorous. Achieving it is one of the most rewarding experiences in scouting. Seth Samuelson is the most recent scout in Troop 59 to achieve this prestigious honor.
On March 24, 2018 at West Chapel Hill Baptist Church a special Court of Honor was held to honor Seth and to present him with his Eagle. Members of Troop 59 participated in the Eagle Ceremony. Several scouts shared their most memorable “Seth” moments. Mr Kevin Huggins gave a very heartfelt account of Seth’s journey to Eagle, acknowledging his determination and hard work, complimenting his integrity and strength of character throughout the process and encouraging him to continue to grow as a leader.
Seth’s parents and family assisted Scoutmaster Jimmy Workman with the presentation of Seth’s Eagle Award. They were recognized as being integral to Seth’s success in scouting. Seth honored Assistant Scoutmaster, Terry Fields, with a Mentor Award in recognition of his encouragement and guidance. At the close of the Court of Honor, Seth utilized his characteristic humor to thank everyone for their continued support over the years.
Following the Court of Honor guests were invited to the Fellowship Hall for a reception. Those in attendance enjoyed great food and fellowship with old and new friends. It was a wonderful celebration of a dream realized….Congratulations Seth! You make Troop 59 very PROUD!!!!
